HART Postgraduate Success

This month has seen considerable success amongst our HART postgraduate team. In total, three students successfully achieved their MSc by Reseach degrees by Viva Voce.

First, Alice Carter successfully defended her thesis which focused upon a figurational analysis of the Lincolnshire Workplace Challenge. Alice was assessed by Dr. Andy Pitchford of the University of Gloucester and was supervised by HART members Dr. Adam Evans, Geoff Middleton and Dan Bishop.

Second, Alex Pickerden discussed his project on the stated political intentions of the school academies system in the United Kingdom, using a Foucauldian research framework. Alex was assessed by Prof. Donald Gillies of the University of the West of Scotland, and was supervised by Donna Evans and Dr. David Piggott of Leeds Beckett’s University.

Last but not least, Stacey Mitchell defended her Foucauldian thesis on women’s embodied experiences of golf. Stacey was assessed by Dr. Kitrina Douglas of Leeds Beckett’s University, and was supervised by Dr. Jacquelyn Allen-Collinson and Dr. Adam Evans of HART.
