This week, Hart team members Geoff Middleton, Richard Keegan and Hannah Henderson saw their work on a school-based nutritional programme published in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics. The paper, entitled “A qualitative exploration of stakeholder perspectives on a school-based multi-component health promotion nutrition programme” outlines the challenges a public health food worker service has when implementing healthy eating interventions into both primary secondary schools. The findings illustrated that schools welcomed the service, but also noted a number of issues. Participants questioned programme sustainability and its capacity to deliver over the long-term. The paper has important implications for the design and implementation of similar programmes in the future.
